Summer 2022
ART BY KAI OKORODUDU
ABOUT
Though it may be the end of the year, along with emotional hugs and waves comes a
fresh wave of hope and renewal for the future - and, of course, relief that summer is
finally here, expressed through sighs of relief and the dazzling artwork of our peers.
This past year, it's been our pleasure to have graced Masterman's unique environment
with our physical magazine once more, while still keeping with our online presence.
We hope that you have a wonderful summer and know that you have a great future
ahead of you - and though this may be goodbye to a quarter of you, we're sending you
good vibes wherever we're going.
If you would like to submit your art, please email it to vibemhs@gmail.com.
If you want to join our awesome team of editing and marketing, just let us know at the same email!

The first digital art in the mid-

to create scientific artwork
instead of the interactive graphical user interfaces that are used
today.

FUN FACT:
There were over 700 different types of dinosaurs! Which
one is your
favorite?

Hypatia Hesperosaurus, a student at the School of Studious Stegosaurs. She primarily studies history with Herodotus, and spends most of her time in the library, reading and studying.

Ptolemy Tuojiangosaurus, lecturer in math, astronomy, geography, and music theory at the School of Studious Stegosaurs. No student can escape being taught by him at some point, he makes sure of that.

Kallimachos Kentrosaurus, the librarian at the School of Studious Stegosaurs.

Damo Dacentrurus, the strict and suspicious dean at the School of Studious Stegosaurs.

FUN FACT:
An average household can throw away as much as 13,000 separate pieces of cardboard every year.
Herodotus Huayangosaurus, lecturer in history at the School of Studious Stegosaurs. He's one of the oldest teachers at the school, and students are quite fond of his storytelling.

Myia Miragaia, an obsessively academic student at the School of Studious Stegosaurs (honors program, teaching assistant, head of several clubs, student government member, takes as many courses as possible). No one knows how she sleeps.

My Triassic version of Henry De la Beche's 1830 Jurassic watercolor scene, Duria Antiquior. It features Edge of Panthalassa characters Nothosaurus (the long-necked one), Mixa, and Cymbos (the big one). Ironically, De la Beche's Ichthyosaurus more closely resembled Cymbospondylus (which had not yet been discovered) than what we now know Ichthyosaurus to have looked like.
FUN FACT:
Do you know how large blue whales are? For comparison, a blue whale’s tongue is heavier than an elephant—that’s over 7 tons!
